Tuo ukkokulta kun kuuluu kaikenlaisiin seuroihin, yhdistyksiin, kerhoihin pyysi minut mukaan Autohistoriallisen seuran filmi-, diailtaan joka pidettiin Siuntion Hyvinvointikeskusksessa Vaahtera auditoriossa eilen. Hiukan empien lähdin mukaan. Lähinnä lähdin koska en ollut ennen käynyt Siuntion Hyvinvointikeskuksessa.

Ei tarvinnut katua. Ilta oli kaikin puolin onnistunut ja mielenkiintoinen. Alkuun Markku Pellinen, varapuheenjohtaja kertoi, vaimonsa kanssa tekemästä matkastaan Ranskaan, missä kävivät museossa “Cité de l'Automobile”, Mulhouse, Alsace. Nähtiin heidän ottamista kuvista diaesityksen. Valtavan iso museo, todella paljon upeita vanhoja autoja.

Nähtiin myös filmipätkä Stig Fagerstedtin iste rakentamastaan “Silver Meteor” autosta Rolls-Royce moottorilla. Moottori jyrisi niin että tuntui kuin koko kokoustila olisi tärissyt !

Sitten Uki Lindroth esitteli kaitafilmin ja kertoi vuoden –66 automatkastaan Intiasta Suomeen. Olipa he, vaimonsa kanssa, kokeneet ja nähneet paljon. Vanhasta paloautosta oli rakennettu matka-auto ! Jyrkkien, korkeiden vuoristojen ylittämiset näyttivät niiiin pelottavilta että huhh-huhh.

Lopuksi sitten filmi- kuvaesitys 20-vuotisjuhla-ajosta Helatorstaina 09 missä kunnoitettava määrä osallistujia.

No, no, not my cake, not my cute little pink piggy ! 

For Father’s Day hubby got to choose just what cake he wanted. This is what he chose ! Well, no matter how much he loved the piggy we had it for the afternoon coffee.

We spent a fantastic afternoon on Friday (6.11.09) in Aulanko Spa pool department together with our dear friends. Can you believe ! Hubby and me, we both did the water tube slide ! I had planned to take a deep breath before splashing into the water but, eeeeeeeeek, in now time I was in the water. There I was, embarrassed, coughing after swallowing some water. An other nice experience was the outdoor pool. There we were in the nice warm water, snowflakes in the hair, yes it was snowing a little bit. Afterwards our wonderful friends took us to a Greek restaurant for a wonderful Greek meal and glass of red wine. 

Voi miten fantastinen päivä meillä olikaan taas meidän ihanien ystävien seurassa perjantaina (6.11.09). Vietettiin iltapäivä yhdessä Aulangon kylpylässä. Tulipa kokeiltu vesiliukumäkeäkin ! Jooo voitteko kuvitella ! Toi mun ukkokulta ja minä ! Käskin mieheni kysymään uimavalvojalta voiko myös meidän ikäiset käydä liukumäessä. Asia oli ihan OK joten pistin tuon rakkaan ukkelin ensin kiipeämään rappuja ylös. Sieltä hän sitten putkahti muutamassa sekunnissa putkesta veteen. Joopajoo, näytti sen verran hauskalta että päätin kokeilla. Iiiiiiiiiih mikä vauhti ! Ja plumsista veteen. Olin ajatellut että vedän henkeä juuri ennen alastuloa mutta en ehtinyt joten hörppäsin siinä sitten vettä väärään kurkkuu ja jouduin jonkun aikaa kröhimään. Kaiken kaikkea ihan hauska paitsi hieman hävetti tuo kröhiminen. Ulkoallaskin oli mukava kokemus. Lunta satoi hiljalleen ja me vaan köllöteltiin lämpimässä vedessä. Yli kaksi tuntia vierähti siinä tosi nopeasti. Kylpylän jälkeen meidän rakkaat ystävät tarjosivat meille kreikkalaisessa ravintolassa ihanat ruoat ja lasi viiniä

From time to time I get bitten by the drawing bug ! I think the color pencils I am using are are too hard. Maybe watercolor pencils would give a better result ? ! 

The eyes of the baby fox are not right but I didn’t have the energy to try to make them right. Well . . . tried today (Nov.11) to make the eyes right. Now the ears are bothering me . . . but I  better  leave it now and make no more changes !

Sunday, September 20 we visited a Alpaca farm just outside Hämeenlinna. The alpacas are very cute.

Not far away from the farm there is a motorcycle museum. Hubby found the motorcycle on the living room table a great idea and would love to have his moped on our kitchen table.

Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th we had a most wonderful ending of the summer together with our dear friends at their summer place. I went for a swim. The water was + 14 Celsius.

   I wish I would have been able to shoot these flowers from the front but unfortunately the ditch was too wide and deep for me to jump.

The region of  Vantaankoski is dating as far as the Middle Ages. In the end of 1890’s there was established a file factory, a mill, electricity plant. Today the old file factory is a nice place for all kinds of festivities, meetings etc. as well as all kinds of outdoor activities.

Vantaankoski is not far away from us. Just about 7 – 8 km. Last Saturday (September 19) when on our way back home from a friend we stopped there and made an about one hour walk. It was very nice.

Last Sunday evening (September 13th) when I was walking Canelo we saw a hot air balloon.

At first it looked like they were going to land right there  . . . in front of us.

WOW . . . it looks so nice . . . I’d love to make a ride.

OK . . . it will be landing a bit further away . . .

For the last couple of weeks there has been some really wonderful sunsets !

Some updates for August.

It was nice having our neighbor's son for a sleepover on August 6. There is a place, not far away from us, where people are training motocross. Also on the way there is a field for radio controlled airplanes. As he had never been to neither place we took him there. He really enjoyed the evening and so did we.

On August 12 we had the great honor and pleasure to again be invited to our friends for the annual crayfish party. Such a fantastic evening . . . sauna bath, swimming in the lake, delicious crayfish.

On August 22.-23.2009 the Motocross MX3 World Championship took place in Vantaa. We had planned to go there both days but were there only on Sun 23. It was a great event.

Mon 31, last day of August, was a nice wind for surfers. First time I happened to see a kite surfer. Looked sooo nice.

How wonderful to have had the good fortune this summer to meet our goddaughter and her family so many times. Here is one more pict from last Saturday when we stopped by to pick up some forgotten spearparts.

They are soon, in the beginning of August, to get two new familymembers . . . two kitties. I'm so much looking forward to get some picts of them.

It was such a great evening. The band Country Express "making a comeback" after 20 - 25 years. The "boys" were playing as well as ever and even, after a while, looked the same : ) yeah still going strong !

Only three weeks ago we were in Ekenäs attending the old vechiles event and now we made the about 100 km drive there again. It was worth the driving.

Ramsholmen is a very nice small, island.   

It really felt like turning time back to the end of the 60's. Plenty of people. Most aged + 50, +60, +70 and even +80.

Also the other band, not as familiar to us, Greger & Buffalos were great.

Me and hubby danced which we had not done in 41 years ! !

The evening was a bit chilly and it was drizzling by and by. Good thing was there were hardly no mosquitoes.

We were back home at about 2:10 AM.

We spent a wonderful afternoon at the summer happening in the small village of our goddaughter's. It was the warmest summer day so far. It was lovely to watch all the kids enjoying themselves. Thanks dear goddaughter for inviting us.

Yesterday we went to our granddaughter's to pick up the car our son bought from them.

Minea, goddaughter's younges one, was so happy to see us again so soon. She was adorable showing all of us her room, her stuff, the bunnies etc. She was little miss happy sunshine.

She wanted Canelo to meet "Batman". Canelo's first meeting with a bunny. He was so excited and was disappointed not been letting in.

When we were ready to leave, it made us so sad and broke my heart to hear the sweet little girl crying so hard, big tears running down her cheeks, not wanting us to take their car.

We will be meeting them all again today and I really do hope she has been able to forget and forgive us taking their car.

What a super-duper wonderful day we had yesterday ! Our goddaughter Linda & kids Sandra, Rasmus and Minea were visiting us. After having coffee we went down to the lake. On the way back we stopped by the playground.

Surprise, surprise . . . Linda's car changed owner . . . it turned out it was for sale on the net and as our son had, for some time, been looking for a car he bought it :)

Also this Midsummer we were invited by our friends to celebrate midsummer together at their summer place. The day was pretty cold and gray. It was dizzling and raining almost all the time. Soon Sanna's sister and brother in law arrived. I think it's the third midsummer we spent together all six of us. 

Now a days we don't meet "the boys" too often. Today we were lucky to meet the younger one of the boys with his girlfriend. Such a lovely couple. They soon left to celebrate with their friends.

Wonderful, delicious midsummer food ! New potatoes, fresh salads and for dessert strawberries and ice cream. Yammi ! !

We had sauna bath. None of us went for a swim as the water in the lake was only + 16 C. Also we had the absolutely one midsummer must: "grillattu makkara" grilled sausage. It smells sooo good. Both Viivi and Canelo patiently awaiting for some too. Eventually the waiting paid off and boy were they happy having small bits of "makkara".

Guess who fell asleep before midnight  ! ? ! Yup, hubby ! So soon after we both went to bed. Sanna was able to stay awake till two in the morning. Christer, Leena and Rauli all made it till four in the morning.

Next morning we had a wonderful brunch. Weather still gray, bit chilly and some dizzling.

  At about noon we left. Here Viivi is waving bye to Canelo. Well . . . I think she really could not figure out where he was !

Last Saturday we were in Tammisaari where was held yet an other Classic car show and other old vehicles as well.

It was absolutely wonderful having  Julia and her mom Monica visiting us last Monday on June 1st. It was the warmest day of the summer, so far, 29 degrees Celsius. We walked down to the lake. First day out of school there were so many kids, all having lots of fun in the water. Julia really had wanted to join them. Not having her  bathingsuite with her, Monica and me tried to talk her to go in her undies but nope, nope, nope. Well OK . . . I do understand, neither would I have at 8 !   

In the beg. of october 2006 when we visited them on our way back home from Lappland. Julia so much wanted to stay the night in the camper. Only then we had to go home as we already had made promises for the next morning. She still is looking forward to spend the night in the camper. We probably will be going northwards in the end of the summer and hopefully will be able to make her wish come through.

We were so happy to be encluded to celebrate our young, lovely friend Jenni on her graduating.  By the way Jeni and Elina are sisters. Jenny too loves dogs and have one of her own. Or  . . . let me think . . . could it be she's got two now a days. 

Sunday May 17 we planned to make a sightseeing tour around the lake Vesijärvi but after just driving for a while I changed my mind remembering our dear friend Elina is living less than an hour drive away. For times and times again both Elina and us had talked about us visiting there. So I made a call to check whether she'd be at home and could we come. Yup . . . was OK to stop by. 

 Elina with the about 4 - 5 months old twins . . . cuties. The 2,5 year old boy just was about to go with his grandparents to catch some fish so we only were able to wave him hi and bye.

A happy mom and starving puppies. I can't remember the name of the proud mom as Elina has 4 or 5 or maybe 6 dogs of her own.

The day was fantastic. The pancake & icecream was yammi. Thanks Elina for having us there.

Back home from the road trip on Wednesday 13th we didn't even unpack as we were to leeave for Orimattila on Saturday 16th to stay the night in Lahti. It was time for the yearly event of Orimattila fleamarket, old cars-,  old bices etc show . . . yes anyhting you can think of. The day was warm and sunny as was last year too. It's one of the most popular events with about 250 - 300 "exhibitors" and lots of visitors. We stayed there for many hours.

Many had already left when we too decided to leave for Lahti and the Mukkula Camping. Ooooh NO ! Our motorhome had sank into the ground ! The more we tried to get away the more the wheels digged into the mud. When we came we didn't notice the ground was a bit wet and soft as it, to us,  looked OK. Nothing else to do than call for towing service. Good thing was there was one right in the neighborhood who came in just 10 minutes and had us winched back on solid ground in 5 minutes. The cost; 60 euro : (   so embarrassing and such an unnecessary cost. With that kind of money we could have had a nice dinner instead. Later in the evening we were already able to laugh . . . 60 euro laugh. I wish I had shot a picture of the truck winching our car from the mud but I was too upset at the moment to remember I stood there camera in my hand.

In Lahti it hit us that we had forgotten to give Canelo his lunch. Ooooh my poor little sweet Canelo  . . . on his birthday, turned 3 years. He was starving and didn't even take the time to jump down from the bed to eat.
